Yoga in pregnancy

Yoga is a wonderful resource for women who are pregnant. However every woman is unique and that includes how she experiences her pregnancy. There is also a big difference between the pregnant woman who wants to begin yoga, and the pregnant woman who is already a yoga practitioner and wants to continue a modified practice. The woman who is already a yoga practitioner may have some concerns about the ability of her teacher to modify poses in class to ensure her safety. Amanda has trained in the safe inclusion of pregnant women into class and has many years experience of supporting students who are practising yoga in pregnancy.

At the moment Harrogate Yoga is able to offer places to pregnant women on Yoga Gently courses – if their pregnancy will be between 14 and 36 weeks for the duration of the course. In order to do these courses, women should have previous experience of yoga and/or have a reasonable degree of fitness and no complications regarding their pregnancy.
